25 Weeks

Week: 25
Size: Eggplant!
Baby’s job this week:  He is 9 inches long and weighs more than 1 1/2 lbs now!  Capillaries are forming under the skin and by the endo f the week his lungs will be lined with tiny air sacs.  His vocal cords are functioning now, which means occasional hiccups can be felt!
mptoms:  Swollen hands and feet.  Occasional leg cramps
Sleep:  It’s hit or miss.  Some nights, I sleep the entire night and the only thing that wakes me is my alarm in the morning.  Other nights, I toss and turn trying to find that comfortable position.
Maternity Clothes:  Dresses and full panel pants.  I’m not a fan of the demi band any longer.
Food Cravings:  Apple Pie.  I ate an entire pie by myself this past week… over the course of 7 days, not in one sitting lol.  It was so good.  Heat a slice up in the microwave for 30 seconds and then put a scoop of French Vanilla Ice Cream on top.  Delicious.
Food aversions:  Nothing to report
What I miss: Wine and Dewey’s Buffalo Chicken Pizza.
Movement:  All over the place!  🙂  Each week I feel him more and more throughout the day.  I love it!
Gender: Boy!
Favorite moment of the week:  We are in the final stages of finishing the bathroom upstairs… but it still feels like the finish line is so far away.  I came home from a work event on Sunday and our very good friends truck was in the driveway.  I kid you not, I almost started crying.  His truck in the driveway means we are going to get twice as much, if not more, work done that day.  He has been invaluable to us while working on this addition.  Of course, his friendship is invaluable to us anyways 🙂  We got so much more done on the bathroom this weekend than what we thought we were going to accomplish.  It feels so good to be ahead of where we thought we’d be!
What I’m looking forward to: Shower this weekend!
Favorite Ryan quote:  He’s been on good behavior.
Moments worth noting: There were 2 days last week that were really rough for me.  I feel so overwhelmed with everything that we need to do to prepare for the baby and it all hit me with a flood of emotions last week.  I couldn’t stop crying.  I guess you could say the “nesting” urge has kicked in but my hands are tied on what I can do about it.  The bathroom renovation, although in the final stages, is really causing anxiety for both myself and Ryan.  I know it will be done before our little guy gets here, but I feel this need to start preparing and making room for baby.  The problem is, there is so much I can’t do, due to being pregnant.  It’s so frustrating sometimes.  I talked with my mom for a good while on Saturday and she said, “You feel this sense of urgency the bigger your belly gets to prepare for the baby.”  She is so right.  I feel so much better today and I think that’s because of how much we were able to get accomplished this weekend.  Ryan is working his butt off everyday trying to complete the bathroom.  I know he’s stressed out too and I feel really bad for putting any of my anxiety on him.

Have a great week!
