39 Weeks

Week: 39
Size: Watermelon!
Baby’s job this week:  He is between 19-21 inches long and weighs around 7-9 lbs in weight!  This baby is ready to be born!  Just putting the final touches on his lungs and brain development this week.
Symptoms:  Swelling!  Bending down is really proving to be quite a task lately as well.  This belly is large and in charge.
Sleep:  It’s hit or miss.  Some nights I get a good 6-8 hours but other nights it’s only 3-4 hours.  Sometimes I can’t sleep due to my back feeling as though it’s going to break other times I can’t turn my brain off.
Maternity Clothes:  Anything that fits!
Food Cravings:  Fried Chicken!
Food aversions:  Nothing to report!
What I miss: Wine, Dewey’s Buffalo Chicken Pizza, and blue cheese
Movement:  Movement has definitely slowed down.  There just isn’t that much room for this little guy to move around!  It’s more jabs and pokes these days.
Gender: Boy!
Favorite moment of the week:  Like last week, Ryan and I are making sure to take as many opportunities to just go out and have fun together.  Friday we grabbed Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese and green beans and watched the olympics.  The Fried Chicken was soooo delicious!  Saturday we picked out picture frames for the nursery and finished up the artwork as well.  Saturday night we went to Hubbard Grill for dinner in the Short North.  Scrumptious.  It also happened to be Gallery Hop so we walked around to the different shops.  It was a lot of fun.  Sunday morning we had breakfast at Northstar Cafe.
What I’m looking forward to: Spending as much time as possible with Ryan.
Favorite Ryan quote:   Ryan had to go to the doctor on Monday to get the TDAP shot.  It’s a tetanus shot that is combined with diphtheria and pertussis.  It’s a very important vaccine to get, especially with a little one on the way.  When Ryan was with the nurse he said, “Now this is a tetanus shot that has other things in it too, right?”  The nurse said, “What do you mean?”  Ryan said, “Well, I think it’s supposed to have tuberculosis and pitocin in it.” She replied, “Pitocin?!  Do you mean, Pertussis?”  Ryan immediately started laughing and said, “Yes, pertussis.  Sorry, my wife is expecting and I’ve got labor and delivery on the brain.”  hahaha

Have a great week!
