Woah! Half way to a year already?! How can that be? Feels like just yesterday we brought you home from the hospital! We are having SO much fun with you. You are becoming quite the little boy. Always babbling about anything and everything. Laughing at all of daddies funny tricks. You now have 3 teeth! Can you believe it?! Your bottom right tooth poked through right before you turned 6 months old. Growing so fast! We visited the doctor again this month and you did such a great job! Barely cried when you got your shots. You weighed in at 23lbs and 29 1/4 inches long!
Your daddy didn’t love the idea of covering you in smooches and then mailing the picture out to everyone. He thought mommy was making you too girly 🙂 But, clearly you are a ladies man and who wouldn’t want to smooch you all over! Your mommy and her friend April plotted to have these pictures done together. That’s right, we smooched up both of our babies! You also got to have a play date with April and Adeline this month while mommy went to work! You always have the best time over there!
This month your coordination has improved drastically. You can grab items with just one hand and can pass objects back and forth between your hands. Everything, and I do mean everything, goes in your mouth. You reach for anything within sight, so we’ve had to be extra cautious on what we have around you.
Like I predicted last month, you are rolling over like a champ! Wether it’s back to front or front to back, you’ve mastered it! I’ve tried to get videos of you doing it but you seem to be way more interested in the camcorder than continuing to roll, so no footage yet.
You are getting so good at sitting up on your own! I still put either a pillow or the boppy around you because once you start tilting you aren’t able to pull yourself back up. Unfortunately, you’ve bonked your head a couple of times because of that.
You now recognize we’re your meals come from. Wether it’s a bottle or from mommy, when you’re hungry you either stare at my chest or reach for the bottle we’re trying to warm for you! You have even grabbed the bottle a few times and put it straight in your mouth. Such a big boy!
Grandpa came with Grandma and stayed with us one night and you were way to interested in him than listening to the story. So sweet. The biggest event that happened this month was introducing you to solids! We started out with sweet potatoes. You weren’t really sure what to think the first night.
You rolled the food around in your mouth and were definitely confused by the whole experience. However, the next night you were a champ! You love sweet potatoes! You’ve also tried avocado, zucchini, carrots and peas. Not a fan of any of these. Next month we will start fruits and grains! Can’t wait 🙂
