36 Weeks

Week: 36
Size: Honeydew!
Baby’s job this week:  He is between 18-19 inches long and weighs around 5-6 lbs in weight!  His lungs and brain continue to rapidly develop and of course he is packing on the baby fat before birth.  Next week he will be full-term!
Symptoms:  Swelling, swelling, swelling.  As you can probably see in the picture.  Some days it’s really bad (according to me, normal with pregnancy) and other days not so bad.  I just have to make sure I am keeping my feet elevated several times a day.
Sleep:  Still getting a good 8 hours a night.  Back is very achy when I wake up though.
Maternity Clothes:  Anything that fits and doesn’t lock heat in!  If it’s just Ryan and I at home, I usually just have on a sleep nursing bra and undies lol.
Food Cravings:  Chipotle and peanut M&M’s!
Food aversions:  Nothing to report!
What I miss: Wine, Dewey’s Buffalo Chicken Pizza, and blue cheese
Movement:  All the time 🙂
Gender: Boy!
Favorite moment of the week:  We finished the master bathroom!!!  I was able to take a shower on Thursday for the very first time upstairs!  I just kept jumping up and down and laughing the whole time I was in there because it’s just crazy that what was our vision is now a true reality.  A bathroom post and tribute to my amazing handy husband coming later this week.
What I’m looking forward to: Carpet is being installed today upstairs and then our master suite will be pretty much ready to go.  We will still have a few minor details to work out (paint, trim, decor, etc)  but all of that is taking a back seat until after little Slice arrives.
Favorite Ryan quote:   Ryan shared a story that has somehow escaped being told after almost 9 years together.  He shared that only two days after he had a benign tumor removed from the base of his neck (which I knew about) he went to an Evanescence concert.  If that isn’t alarming enough, he had a bandage that wrapped around the back of his neck to the front of his face under his nose.  He said the incision was still oozing and leaking but he had bought the tickets well in advance and didn’t want to miss the concert.  Oh, and he decided crowd surfing was appropriate and worth the risk too.  Can you even imagine seeing this 19-year-old, bandaged person crowd surfing?!  Needless to say, we laughed for a good while over this one.

Have a great week!
